summer is NOW. Do it!!!
Biking before- Tod- Manc with Bri, 40 miles covered in one day, long and soggy, proud of us, partying after.
Biking part 1- bad bike accident on crossing, big bruises, swelly arm, ali's knees all big, my arm all big, fce all big. Laughing after. No cars.
Biking part 2- adventures, rocks, sunshine, views over the tops across all the valley, holiday feel, familar made unfamiliar by perspective, rattly bikes, bouncy bikes, bikes with no suspension, bikes with full suspension, lost on footpaths, heaving bikes over walls, angry farmers, nice farmers, glorius hills, never ending down, clover, buttercups, angry cows, nice cows. Some sunburn. cider at the pub eventually.
Stream and gorge walk- climbin up rocks, sliding down waterfalls, slithering down victorian swears, ripped trousers, muddy hands, climbing up from the water on tree roots, racing, splashing.
Sunny days- Kite flying across the resevoir, fed the horses, laughed at sheeps testicles, fried egg sanwiches off Ali's mum, warm dog in the sun.
Blackpool for sams birthday- horror house, water park, swim swim swim, watercoaster, water terror, backflips, fish and chips, paddling, donkeys, fizzy drinks, more sunburn, gulls wheeling and wheeling.
this weekend- Camping at Harry Potter castle, giant zipwire, falcons, rain, ice cream? |

Sometimes I worry that I got too old, too quick, what with the mortgage, boy and dog. Sometimes I miss shaving all my hair off and dancing into the dawn.
Then I go out and play and its all ok... This weekend has been wakeboarding, mountainbiking, bbqs, wine and chilledness.
This entry is short cos its mainly just to remind you I'm here. facebook does not work well on library computers, LJ is fractionally better, but I really can't be ars'd to stay on here, sorry! read your entries a few pages back though.
Macaroni and cheese is a marvellous thing. I go eat some now. |

I still exist. Just don't talk to me about Christmas, cooking, my job or The Spirit. (Regarding the latter, remember the lampooning I gave the 300? This would be like an epic, epic version. Lampooning off the scale. Really.) Do talk to me about my motorbike (fixed!!!), my new brown Docs (mmm...brown), the puppet show I'm seeing on thursday, Jive and curry.

Hola
I am hungry.
Meeting yesterday was ok, have a few ideas for books, feel slightly inept as ever though. Porbably due to being around lots of experienced managers, (or good bluffers) but just want my shop to be a success!!
I want to go on visits so am off to research how cheaply i can get to a)London and b)Norwich in the new year!

Oh and I also purchased an epilator. its crazy. I mean, what other species would be so obsessed with hair removal that it would invent a tiny device full of loads of tiny tweezers? its masochism. but I am very smooth... |

The internet is such a rare and wondrous beast.
Theres been too much going on to start telling you all of it. But i will just send giant hugs to Tammy and Lee, whose bridesmaid I was last week and congrats on the good news!!! Wedding was beautiful and made me cry. I can't help it, weddings a)are just so emotional and b)make you stocktake your own life. Overwhelming. Although I mainly blame Lee, who looked so in love as he said his vows. I gather there are pictures on facebook, but I suspect they won't do justice to the day. I'm fobidden to say it was epic, immense, or that we loved it. Wang.
Made new friends, played in the rain, broke my dress, drank Pernod. Speeches were hilarious, dance offs were also hilarious, and 7 year old Brandon (sp?)-yup, also hilarious!
I have gel nails from the occasion and they make typing hard. Some serious filing going on later.
the pre wedding week was also ace, great to see so many people, lovely to meet some new ones, (big high five for the bloke there Kara...fit dreaded toyboy...hmmm...familiar...do you ever feel we live wierdly mirrored lives?!!), some crazy dancing(I know I shouldn't, but I love Fall Out Boys cover of 'Beat it' and danced much)and some tasty chicken (back to being real veggie now. Promise. Sorry little naminals)
Its Infest this weekend. Would it be a travesty if I wore jeans for at least one of the days? Its cold and wet up here. (those of you travelling from the south, be prepared- its like winter here. seriously). Although I have to wear my new bloomers also (from the lovely Charlotte) as they are made of awesome.
eh...I had so much to say! Blah. Work calls (Oxfam is the best job, seriously) ( I love saying seriously. Seriously)
PS: Violent Femmes made of awesome also. Wonder if now their song is on that beer advert everyone else will finally catch on? |

One infest ticket purchased. (45 $%^&* quid!!! thats waaaaaay gone up....)
The question is: I live a 35 minute train journey from Bradford, the first train is at 5am, so each night I could technically come home, sleep, wash, change, and be back on campus for about 2. Buuuut, whilst this will cost me only around 15 quid in train fare, I'm still pondering whther to grab a room in halls for convinience sake...but they are so expensive!
What to do, what to do? |
